AeroPAC MudRock 2006

I flew with some friends to AeroPAC's MudRock 2006 launch at Black Rock on June 17, 2006.

Some pictures are omitted right now but will be added later. The plane that I was a passenger in had a gear-up landing at Black Rock. No one was hurt and the plane was in excellent shape other than the obvious need for a new propeller and some engine maintenance. But I wanted to let the pilot/owner confirm he's done with all the insurance stuff first before posting pictures of the plane.

img_6057.jpg - 2006:06:17 14:20:15Richard Hagen's "Cloud Maker" dumps 5 gallons of water at apogee to... make a cloud. It's a real crowd-pleaser. (I couldn't get a picture of the launch because I was the Launch Control Officer.) The original idea to carrying the water was to simulate the weight of a second stage to test a booster alone. But the effect of dumping the water and creating a cloud has become a reason on its own for a flight.
